Valērijs has an extensive experience in the Latvian Bar Association, providing legal assistance since 2005. In providing legal assistance, he also uses his previous experience in leading legal positions in credit institutions and insurance, where Valērijs worked for 12 years. Excellent knowledge of financial law allows, inter alia, to provide effective legal assistance to property owners, whose properti rights were limited in criminal proceedings and proceedings concerning criminally obtained property.
He has extensive experience in providing legal assistance to clients outside Latvia, having previously practiced in a law firm in the United States, as well as obtaining two master's degrees in international law in Latvia and Sweden. Valērijs also speaks as an expert in the United Kingdom in cases of extradition of Latvian nationals to Latvia. In his practice, Valērijs also defended a person to be extradited from Latvia in a high profile case, actively cooperating with colleagues in the United States. Valērijs was also the leader of the “Anti-Discrimination Course” organized by the Council of Europe for Latvian judges and lawyers.
In addition, taking into account his successful experience in representing the interests of financial institutions in courts in civil and administrative proceedings, Valērijs continued to develop as a successful lawyer in civil and administrative cases after starting to practice law. In addition to clients for whom Valērijs provides legal assistance in criminal proceedings, the clientele also consists of insurance companies in complex insurance cases, as well as other individuals and entities who/that need qualified legal assistance in certain areas of civil and administrative law.
Valērijs became a lawyer with the aim of helping clients, and believes that the preconditions for effective law practice are honesty, professionalism and adherence to high ethical standards for the practice of law.
Assistant to the Attorney-at-law
Has in-depth knowledge of contract law, family law, insurance law and criminal law. He has conducted various legal studies for the needs of the law office in complex cases, where there were uncertainties about the applicable law, jurisdiction, as well as atypical factual circumstances that have not been considered in the courts of the Republic of Latvia.
Andrejs has also assisted in drafting agreements and various procedural documents. Andrejs is improving his professional qualification and has acquired knowledge in the field of protection of children's rights.
